Spring Term 1

Week beginning 6th March
Yet another busy week with lots going on. On Tuesday we visited the local church for T@St Mary's. We talked about the King's coronation and some of us got to do some acting and dressing up.
On Wednesday all the violin players in school put on a concert for us, some group playing and some solos. They have inspired lots of us to take up lessons.
On Thursday  we also fed back our RE day work to the rest of the school. The theme was Heroes and Ash class looked at the question Why do Christians believe Jesus is the Messiah?  We shared the story of Abraham and Sarah and David and Goliath as well as discussing the qualities of a great leader.
 Week beginning 20th February
Another busy week in Ash class. We started the week with a visit from  Mrs Trevorrow for a rehearsal for the concert next week. We are all looking forward to the concert with other DASP schools on Tuesday 28th February at Thomas Hardye. We have continued to learn about Romans and looked at how they built their roads. We ended the week by creating our own roads using sweets, custard and biscuits. I don't think the Romans enjoyed eating their roads as much as we did
                                   Welcome to 2023.
Week beginning 6th February
Well what a busy few weeks we have had in Ash Class. We have visited Dorchester Museum and taken part in some Roman workshops. We became archaeologists and excavated a grave and studied the artefacts that were buried beside the body and came up with some conclusions about the person. We walked on several examples of mosaic floors that are in different parts of the museum. In the afternoon we walked to the Roman Town House where we had a guided tour. We even got to go inside but had to wear protective shoe coverings.
Last Thursday 25 Year 3 and 4 went to Dorchester Rugby club to take part in the tag rugby festival. We had a great day and improved our rugby skills, next stop Twickenham!!!
To finish this half term we had our final class assembly. We donned our costumes and some face paints and acted out the Boudicca story. Everyone was so proud and thoroughly enjoyed the performance.
