Newsletter 2

LogoDear Parents,

It has been a lovely start to the year with the warm weather and the children have had lots of opportunities to go outside. Everyone has settled very well including our new Reception children, who have been helped so well at playtimes by their Pals. I can’t believe that we are already nearly at half term, so much has happened and we are looking forward to the next half term and the run up to Christmas. Thank you for all your support this term it has been a great first half term for myself also.

Our School Council have been elected by their classes and I am delighted to announce that the following children have been elected:

Oak Class – Oscar Lovell and Holly Cheeseman
Beech Class – Erin Barker and Drew Grimmett
Maple Class – William Antram and Holly Holdcroft
Rowan Class – Ben Sanders and Amy Williams
Linden Class – Consance Brereton and Benjamin Simpson
Ash Class- Bella Silk and Jack Wormgoor

Congratulations go to all these children, who will have the opportunity to represent their peers and be involved more fully in the wider life of school. Willow Class will hold their elections after Christmas. Kate Brake has been very busy this half term, she has organised the School Council as well as the Playtime Pals and introduced our new PSHE programme called Jigsaw, please do if you are able, come along to one of the assemblies to see what the children have been learning.

At the end of this term Kelly Young will be taking her maternity leave and we have recently appointed Rhiannon Richards to cover this. We are very lucky to have Rhiannon who is a trained teacher and we look forward to working with and welcoming her to the community of Charminster.

This half term Key Stage 2 classes had a day with a Polar Explorer called Antony Ginman, this was a fantastic day and the children learnt so much, an experience I’m sure that will stay with them for a very long time. Thank you for all your termly contributions, without this money events and activities such as this would not be possible.

Yours sincerely,

Cathy Clack
