5th December 2014

Dear Parents/Carers

Christmas is fast approaching and we have all been practising hard in preparation for “The Smallest Angel”, our Christmas Performance this year. We are looking forward to three outstanding performances of song, dance and a lot of Christmas humour! Tickets will be sent home today.

For our evening performance at Herrison Hall in Charlton Down on Wednesday 10th December, we would like the children to arrive in their costumes for 5.30pm please, so that we can be ready for the 6.00pm start. Please note doors will not open until 5.30pm. Those of you just dropping children off, please bring them straight in (no need to queue) via the side door down the left hand side of the building.  It would help if the children had a named carrier bag for their belongings.

Those of you who are staying to watch, please queue with your child at the right of the front main       entrance. Once inside it would be very helpful if you could take your child’s shoes, socks and coat with you to your seat. May I thank our School Association for helping with this and to all of you in anticipation of your patience.

Parking outside Herrison Hall is very restricted.  If you are able to car share it would help tremendously.  I hope those living in Charlton Downcan walk.

The following morning the children can come to school in their costumes, bringing their school uniform, as we will be doing our final performance first thing.  This performance is being professionally filmed for a DVD, being offered to our parents by our School Association. If there are any parents who do not wish their child to be filmed please speak with me in confidence or inform either Jane Dixon or Bev Hayes in our office.

Children who will be attending Kool Kidz on Wednesday 10th need to be collected by 5.00pm please so that staff can set up the crèche at Charlton Down.

Can I remind you that as there has been no charge for the tickets, there will be a collection following each performance, the proceeds of which we would like to donate to the Udayan School in India, with whom we have links.

We have hired a minibus to shuttle our reception and year 4 children up to Herrison Hall on Wednesday morning so they can familiarise themselves before performing in the evening.  If you have any objection to us taking your child for this visit, please let us know before Wednesday – this saves us having to request permission.

May we take this opportunity of thanking you all for your support this term and wishing you all a very Happy Christmas.  May we remind you that the children return to school on Tuesday 6th January 2015.

Yours sincerely

Cathy Clack
